Hail Denizens of Red!
Pawt here, your resident seeker of Justice! I continue my quest to cleanse the realm of undead and help new players find friends and groups. I continue to have a blast!
With that in mind I'd like to share a few pointers to abate the concerns and questions I had when I began on the server about the culture.
DBAD: (don't be a dick) I am a firm believer in karma. That is part of why I roleplay as a bringer of Justice. I have found that by throwing a buff on someone I meet for the first time instead of a nuke has made me no enemies and lots of friends.
Talk to people: Say 'sup', 'Hail', anything to strangers. This does wonders to diffuse the tension of the PVP environment.
Keep a big Friends list: I even supplement mine with a Google Docs sheet to know what class and relative level everyone I meet is. This helps keeping track of people I meet since everyone is anonymous.
Soloing: Find remote areas. Griefers frequent the common spots where people are known to go. Don't float the mainstream and you'll be a lot safer.
Group: Find a core group of friends your level. I've had some great luck in this department. If you are having trouble with this send me a tell in game. I've made it a point to keep track of some of the best people in the lower levels. Many of which are now members of Justice. I have interviewed and selected players that are non-griefing and experienced. /who all Justice in game if you're 15-40 for great peeps.
