I think it would be more a matter of capitalization and tone. THE Holocaust is the common US phrase to mean the one all the Jewish people got murdered in. Jewish Holocost, same thing. Holocaust in itself ..with a capitalization in the middle of the sentence could refer to the Jewish pew pew burn die one. "h"olocaust or a holocaust would not, at least in my mind, be considered a reference to it. However just say the word holocaust in front of any Jewish person, and they would immediately refer to THE holocaust in their brains.
