Necro pet model 53+?

I was just in Timorous watching a necro with his 53 rogue pet out. The model was a standard white skeleton, not a darkbones like on Live. Is this a graphical glitch because I zoned in after he summoned it or are the 53 and 56 pets not like they were back on live?

That is how I remember it, he was shorter, and white. but I didn't begin to play until luclin.

I remember 50+ necro pets being white skeletons (other than spectre one) and they added pet illusion spells later for the icebone and charbone looks.
