View Full Version : Game Mechanics: Items on newbie corpse

The game keeps telling me that if I die as a noob, I will respawn with my items. But the truth is I have to corpse run even as low as level 2 (I fell into the hole - that stuff can rot).

Is this intentional?

the classic mechanic that they replicated here is that level 1 leave corpses with all gear on them.

where exactly does the game "keep telling you" this information? Because its incorrect information and needs to be fixed.

it also says stuff about no level 1 protection in zone on red, which seems false, but maybe thats a separate thread

that is a separate issue. every single zone says "no level 1 protection" even in zones that DO have level 1 protection.

Also, level 1 protection is NOT classic. wtf is up with that even

Salty was mq warping on lvl 1's and training p99 streamers

so this was put in place

every zone that isn't a newbie zone or town as far as I've checked now has the "planar portal" level requirement of like 1

not talking about level restrictions on zones

talkin about how i cant make a level 1 sk and harm touch mules in nfp

NOONE should feel safe going afk on red

Nirg, that's a total separate issue unrelated to OP and the one wrench was referring to. But ya that ones bogus too!

Actually, it only infers that that the player under level 10 will respawn with all items.

I'm sure this and many other help messages actually refer to functionality in later expansions. I played to PoP and don't recall any place called Shadowrest.

EDIT: NM on original statement, heres correct information

Shadowrest is a place which allows players to retrieve decayed corpses. Speak with a Shadowrest NPC in one of the following zones for a port up:

East Commonlands; Plane of Knowledge; Toxxulia Forest; Qeynos Hills; The Feerrott; Butcherblock Mountains; The Field of Bone; Shadeweavers Thicket; Misty Thicket.

If you have multiple expired corpses, you will need to make multiple visits to the zone.

Short Name : shadowrest

Pretty sure shadowrest is not classic. It was put in later on after too many issues with decaying corpses.

Yes. I was a guide on Tallon Zek and I never went to a zone called shadowrest nor saw a shadowrest NPC. Corpses rotted and that was it.

@ Dikafu - correct, the tips found within the Titanium client is not a reliable source for classic information.

@ whitebery - Shadowrest is so NOT classic!!!

Per Magelo it is... Not confirming or denying it.. But its up to the server admin to enable it.

He's probably seeing a message from later versions of EQ when EQ decided to go all Fisher Price to accommodate the WoW community of instant gratification gamers.

But corpse loss/item loss was a real thing in 1999. No worries though, you have like a week to retrieve it.
