LD Zoning

Ever since I've played P99 I've had problems going LD while zoning.
some zones I was shocked not to LD like western freeport.

after the patch this has become more of an issue, sometimes when I go LD it takes 2 or 3 attempts to get back in and the chance of LD seems now to be any zone not just problem zones.

Same here. I've been going LD almost EVERY zone... then, to top it off, I have a lot of trouble logging back on the game... server screen blank, freeze up LD when loading, then says I have an active character when I retry...

Sometimes, after going LD, it can take a half an hour or more to get back on the game. Of course, I absolutely dread zoning now.

I've been having similar issues where a problem that was present before the patch, is much worse after the patch.

If you guys can get some packet logs and dbg logs posted so we can compare data we can try to pinpoint what's going on here

I am afraid of zoning now, I have LD about 80% of the time I run around Kunark!!! With a semi PC and slow loading into the EQ world and getting everything back into RAM with spell effects, its been a pain. I dont know why it escalated to all these problems but the server seemed to be top notch before this patch.

I will say the day of/day after the patch, i spent the day zoning beautifully. I ported people, gated around, bound in OOT and bought kiola nuts to help a guildy get his brewing up. Zoned probably 40 times in an hour helping him, and only got one LD. I thought write an appreciate note somewhere. It was smooth sailing!

But last night prime time everything started getting screwy. I'm having trouble getting on the server, and i disconnect >50% of the time it seems.

Just writing to blow of steam at the moment, and to make sure you are aware.

And then again after getting a rez and getting trained with Rez sickness. And then again when you port the cleric who rezzed you twice and waited for you to get back after going LD.

A good test you can do in this thread so we can find out if there are certain servers giving everyone problems

I am having fewer lockups since the patch so they definitely changed something. I have just as many incidents, but the client almost always recovers and loads in or crashes out completely within a minute or two, where previously it would often freeze indefinitely (several times I walked away and checked back after an hour or more.) I also have issues with the log-in server at times, most often ithe problem is a blank server list.

Heavy traffic on the server (pop of 1200+) quite noticeably increases the frequency of incidents. Heavy traffic on my LAN increases the frequency of incidents as well.

I will say the day or two after the patch zoning became much smoother for me. I thought to write a post of appreciation somewhere with /kisses and other hyperbolic sentiments.
However yesterday and today have been near unplayable. Not sure what the cause for this is. Monday I aided a guildy in his brewing skill-ups, porting porting back and forth from OOT to nro/fpe. Zoned probably 50 times in an hour and a half with only one LD towards the end. It's just been down hill since!

This evening for example I attempted to travel to lower guk. Disconnected on port to Sro, came back, disconnected on zone to innothule, came back, disconnected on zone to upper guk. came back, zoned successfully to Lguk. Each time it seems more troublesome to log back on. Needless to say I fear the zone.

Just venting steam at this point. Wanting my voice to be heard.

It seems to be certain zones for me. Kunark zones have been a nightmare for the most part. Which resulted in a fun swim in Firiona Vie. I've also noticed the zones I'm not LD'ing on tend to take much longer to zone than they did prior to the patch.

I notice this as well but, most the time if you wait long enough (a minute or two) suddenly packets start flowing again. It is very weird.

It's not my end. It's either in between or on the P99 server end.
