Hi guys,

I'm runnning EQ under the free version of WinEQ2 at 1680x1050 resolution.

It's working great to resolve crashing and dual-core issues so far, but since using it I have noticed certain lines of text in chat and in the UI are smaller, compressed, or distorted.

Anyone know a fix for this?

i get the same thing with and without wineq2 ive tried both, the only way i could find a way to fix it for me was put the game into fullscreen mode

but if theres a more practical fix out there id love it heh

Anyone know a fix for this? It seems WinEQ2 also has some issues with Windows 7 and the Taskbar taking over the lower portion of the WinEQ window. I'd be happy to find a fix for that as well.

Additionally, it seems that fullscreen mode for WinEQ2 lends itself to rendering problems with Windows 7 + latest NVIDIA driver (260 GTX card).

Any ideas on the font problem or any of these other issues guys?

Just Adjust your UI to take into account the taskbar :P

I use WinEQ2 as well with Windows 7 64bit, an nVidia GTX 260 without any problems, at a resolution of 1920x1200.

I have the following in my eqclient.ini
[VideoMode]
Width=1920
Height=1200
RefreshRate=60
BitsPerPixel=32
WidthWindowed=1920
HeightWindowed=1200
WinEQWidth=1920
WinEQHeight=1200
FullscreenWidth=1920
FullscreenHeight=1200
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
WindowedWidth=1920
WindowedHeight=1200

Adjust this as appropriate for your preferred resolution.

When I launch EQ from WinEQ2, it always starts out in a 'compressed' windowed mode. I leave it that way till I've logged in (at least to character select, if not all the way into world).

Once logged in, I press 'alt-shift-f' to switch WinEQ2 to 'fake fullscreen' mode. This basically causes it to make a window that's 1920x1200 and positioned such that the borders are off-screen.

After that, sometimes the task bar is covering EQ. To resolve that, I simply alt-tab away and then press the 'ctrl-alt-1' hotkey combination to switch back to EQ.

Works like a charm :)

I just right click task bar>properties>auto hide

works great if you ever want to mouse out and bring task bar up too

I wonder if my font distortion issues are due to me using a resolution of 1680x1050 (native for my LCD)?

I'm curious what the benefits are of running wineq2 when you are running a single client. I do use wineq all the time for other servers when I am boxing 4+ but when I am on P99, I never use it. Just wondering if there's any special reason why you guys do. Does it really save that much resource for only a single client?

WinEQ2 fixed all of my Dual Core CPU issues and crashes. It allows you to throttle system performance to maintain stability in game, among other things.

This happens for me even playing at 1440x900 in windowed mode using the native client. I found that it was because my in-game refresh rate didn't match that of my monitor (either EQ ignored it or switched it on my anyways). If you go to where you choose your resolution, color depth - you will also see refresh rate, try to make that match your monitor or your desktop-preference. EQ was picking up 60Hz when my monitor was running at 75Hz and makes me font all blurry. I have to select it every time I go in the game because it doesn't retain my setting, but at the very least I can read things properly :D

Same issue, unsure of what to do, I've tried to change the eqclient.ini and messed with chatfontsize, to no success. Help. :P
