Hi guys.

I was looking around preparing for becoming an alchemist at 25 and it seems the prices on the component vendors outside the Shaman guild hall in Halas are way out of line.

Please confirm.

Loftus

correct me if im wrong but prices of items are the same everywhere, its defined in the item-database how much it costs and not per vendor - still prices could be expensive, but not only in halas then :)

Yes - the cost of an item from the net is 1s, but it shows up as 1p on the vendor. The net may be wrong, but 1p for skill level 0 components seems pricey.

I noticed that the price on a few components has gone up recently. At least I think so. It would be worth checking.

Hmm I haven't noticed any big changes, just went over most pots to get a base price and though they aren't cheap they're about the same.

I just hit 25 on my shaman and wanted to immediately work on Alchemy. The prices of components are definitely wrong. I'm on Allakhazaam looking at the vendor list for Blergagg in Grobb. I'm also standing at him in game right now, looking what he charges. Here are the differences in his prices vs. what he's supposed to be charging on a few random items as an example:

Allspice:
Alla lists him as charging 5gp 2sp 4cp
In game (as we speak) he charges 2pp 7gp 7sp 0cp

Figwort:
Alla lists him as charging 5gp 2p 4cp
In game (as we speak) he charges 69pp 4gp 5sp 0cp

Valerian Root:
Alla lists him as charging 3pp 1gp 4sp 9cp
In game (as we speak) he charges 28pp 8gp 9sp 1cp

Pretty much every single other herb on all alchemy vendors in Grobb have Why is this? Will it be fixed? I'm level 25, it's unspeakable to have to potentially spend hundreds if not thousands to even reach 100 alchemy. Help!

Unless its a rollback site, you cant compare sites with our prices because things drastically change over the years. Alchemy has always been extremely expensive. I think it was sometime in SoL when they dumbed down prices to make it a little more affordable.

Looks like all herbs are off on pricing. But for the better in most cases.

All herbs were purchased with 65 charisma for the Oggok / Paineel set, and 85 charisma for the Halas / Grobb set (your mileage may vary).

This is very useful indeed!

Everyone agree that all current prices in game should be based on this?

No. I was about to edit my post because I saw this at the bottom of the page:

All herbs were purchased with 65 charisma for the Oggok / Paineel set, and 85 charisma for the Halas / Grobb set (your mileage may vary).

Which would make the allakhazam prices that he listed accurate.

Early early EQ had outrageous herb prices. Pretty sure Nilbog found a source with the current prices.

I bought 2 mandrake root and tried to combine them in a large sewing kit. This doesn't work. It's suppossed to create woven mandrake according to eqtraders. Any ideas? I bought them in Halas.

I believe that's actually a tailoring recipe that isn't classic, but Luclin era.

Allakhazam is not accurate for tradeskill vendor prices. Or anything tradeskill related for that matter. Tradeskills had several major adjustments over the years and Allakhazam reflects those adjustments.
