New gaming comp

Hello, lately my fiancé has to use my laptop for school and work so much it's really cutting into my gaming time. So i decided since my laptop really isn't the best I would invest in a desktop for gaming. I play p99 as well as other emu servers and guild wars 2 and a few other newer games. On my laptop it's always lowest graphics settings, and I am hoping to change that. So what I am asking here is some advice. 400 is about what I want to spend but I want a computer that I can run at least mid level graphics on and have no FPS issues. Craigslist has a ton of old desktops for cheap in my area (seattle) so if anyone can just line me out with some stats to shoot for id appreciate it.

Anything with an AMD Processor will be cheaper and naturally run graphics better than most stock Intels. 400 is a little low to get anything to run midlevel graphics. You could get a used one off craigslist and upgrade the Graphics card but then you'd need a new PSU most likely. The processor in a used computer that low would most likely Bottleneck (restrict full power of it) a new graphics card.

I work at best buy and here are a few things that would run most of the stuff you play. Could probably play Guild Wars 2 at better settings than your current laptop. I am not too familiar with the game but I know its recent.

(this is an older model, similar specs but less storage, still plenty)

(This is a laptop, it would be able to run it.)

(by far best bang for your buck in store) may have to get it online, not sure if it is still in store, has a good A10 processor in it.

AMD's are always going to be cheaper because they don't advertise. With a 400 for a desktop (assuming you don't have a monitor you would need one as well) its going to be tough to stay around there trying to do what you want. I would get one of the A8 or A10 laptops. If you can find one with dedicated graphics that would be preferable but AMDs integrated graphics are much better than Intels and it will be hard to find Dedicated Video memory in that price range. Another option would be E-Bay, Craigslist if you can find something decent.

Anyways sorry for the wall of text, hope I helped.

Thanks for the response. I hit craiglist pretty hard and have narrowed it down I think.

They are both being sold by the same guy. I was hoping to get some feedback. One is way cheaper than the other and I want to make sure it's worth it to buy the more expensive one or not. And also I want to make sure this spec will at least let me play guild wars without any FPS issues at mid-low graphics settings

They both have same processor and graphics card. If you are able to upgrade ram to 8gb of ram on the cheaper one i would do that. Only had 250gb hd but unless u have a bunch of movies it's plenty. If you can't go 8gb on first one pay the 35 and have him upgrade the other one for you to 8 that he offered.

Older graphics card but would run gw2 np. Those prices look good Imo
