I believe the word you want is gender

I know a male halfling that petitioned several times for a sex change. Even going so far as to role play that they had undergone a sex change in real life and needed there avatar to reflect how they were in reality now. The GM's responded with something along the lines of "we wish you happiness with your recent life changes, however, we aren't going to change the sex of your character".

Just so you know.... I wouldn't hold my breath. But this was a while ago, and maybe a different GM will make it happen.

Maybe she identifies as a male. Maybe she's sick and tired of having to sit down when she pees. Maybe she wants to make more plat for the same amount and quality of work as male trolls do. Maybe you need to take a mandatory HR issued gender sensitivity course.

This is a very bigoted view by the staff to not allow gender reassignment. If an elf doesn't agree with the gender it was assigned at its birth then they should be allowed to associate with the gender they identify with. Next your going to tell us there will be separate instances for male and females elfs or vendors that only the male elves can use. This is elfism, and elfism should not be tolerated by God King Rogean in any capacity.
