Slight pause/freeze every 15 seconds

I've been getting this slight pause or freeze (the only way I can think of describing it) much as when you take a screenshot. It happens every 15 seconds or so, does not go away depending on full or windowed mode, using 1 versus 8 cpu cores, compatibility mode on or not, and no key is bound to screenshots. I've browsed the forums over the past few days, as well as tried various 'core' workarounds, and alternatives for launching eq to no effect. I was hoping someone here might have insight as they have experienced similar issues or have more functional knowledge of how computers or this game runs.

delete or rename your log file in everquest/logs/yourcharname_project1999.txt

might have to do it for all your characters if you experience this issue regardless of which toon you are on.

if this doesn't work, repost.

I don't have any logs there, sorry should've mentioned I checked that, and yes it happens on other toons.

This isn't the effect of someone zoning in is it? I tend to get that (helps in a way if you're on red).

does it happen when you open bags and loot and stuff

It's similar to opening bags yes but for me opening bags is not an issue nor are people zoning in. It's most frustrating when I'm running and it does it, throws off my bearings.

If you have enough memory (at least an extra 2GB), try running EQ from a ram drive. You can use Dataram ramdisk, which is free (up to 4GB). If you run eqlite on the EQ folder you can get it down to less than 2GB.

I have 8gb, but do are you hinting that it might be indexing related?
