Man eating cabbage (again)
 

Hello,

I see someone made a post about this a while back. I've been camping this thing for nearly 6 hours keeping 4-6 spawn points on lock-down. I've seen one creeper, and it didn't have the cabbage.

It seems there is something seriously wrong with the spawn rate, especially given this is a newbie quest. All the other NPCs were rare/uncommon, but taking this long for a 5ac helm is silly.

I put in 4 more hours. I've seen it spawn twice more, but still no cabbage. There is very little info about this mob online, but posts here circa 2005 seem to indicate the mob should not be this rare.

Please keep in mind I have at least 4 spawns on lock down, and this zone has a 10 minute repop.

Worked the quest with a druid friend (much needed) and completed it in about 10 hours over a few days. It really is rare and even when it does spawn it isn't guaranteed to drop the cabbage =/

It's out there....somewhere. Anywhere you see a fern thingy running around it can spawn. The loc on the wiki is in the woods where a single one spawns, don't go there it's a waste of time. Get to one of the islands on the water where you see lots of them & just wipe out as many as you can. I camped that damned thing for a over week before I got it. When I'd get too frustrated hubby & I went & collected other parts and then went back. By the time I got that stupid cabbage drop I had all the parts for that hat & the next two. Good luck.
