Ranger: Wolf Form vs. Greater Wolf Form

Besides the run speed bonus, is there a difference between Wolf Form (lvl49) and Greater Wolf Form (lvl56)?
Both seem to add 40 ATK which is the relevant bonus when talking about rangers and melee.

People are advertising Lupine Dagger saying you can benefit from Greater Wolf Form at lvl 45 (proc) which you would only get at lvl 56 regularly.
To me it seems it's only a 4 lvl advantage as Wolf Form (lvl 49) does the same thing.

Thoughts?
Thank you

Lvl 49 Wolf form is outdoor only

The only difference is the run speed and it may last a bit longer. Lupine dagger is good for the fact you don't have to load the spell and cast it. My ranger is 57 and I still would rather use the proc instead of loading the spell gem.

It's a jade mace that looks cool until it turns you in to a wolf for free, buffing your attack and move speed in the process.

Well.. if you're lv 45 and proccing a level 56 spell, that's pretty cool.

So lupine dagger proc works indoors?

Cecily 08-11-2017 01:09 PM

That would be a huge selling point, huh? But no it doesn't.

Scoojitsu 08-11-2017 01:10 PM

Yeah, it would be.
ygagarine's reply hinted at that. That's why I had to verify.
But now I don't see his point. As both spells are outdoor only.

What cool with proc a 56 spell at 45 when it does nothing more at level 45 than normal wolf form does? :-)
