Wiki (Sidebar) Request: Random Page Link

On wikipedia there is a link, close to the top on the left, which lets you go to a random page. Going to a random page on the P99 wiki is much more fun than on the real one, but it's also much harder.

To go to a random page you have to go to http://wiki.project1999.com/Special:SpecialPages, then click on the random page link (http://wiki.project1999.com/Special:Random), read the page, then (when you're ready for the next random page) you have to go back to the special page then re-click the random link.

If there was a convenient "Random Page" link in the sidebar however that could be simplified to: click on a random page, read it, then click on another random page, repeat.

Can we please consider adding this to our wiki?

Sweet, a new way for me to waste time on the wiki! Thanks.

Now if I could just talk you in to giving me some sort of wiki admin access so that I could do cool Javascript stuff to the Per-Level Hunting Guide ...

Nice addition!
I've noticed there are a lot of pages such as monster pages,. whom have their name spelled with or without captials properly. Either the article it self or the link to that article.
It's incredibly annoying.

I discovered this when I was checking out the 'missing pages' article.
Example:
"missing page"
http://wiki.project1999.com/A_Spiroc_Warrior

And the actual page:
http://wiki.project1999.com/A_spiroc_warrior

Clearly it's supposed to be Capital S and W but yeah...

The reason this is related to Random Page is people may click random page and it will send them to one of these pages..

Also I need to learn how to do redirect, Pretty sure this could be solved with redirect. Because there are a surprising number of pages with capital spelling mistakes. I think it would be faster to redirect then to .. uh idk?

Yeah I think redirects are the appropriate wiki solution. You can create them by either:
  • going to the mis-named page, clicking "Move" at the top, and then moving it to the correct title (if the original page had the right title I guess you could move it to the wrong title, then move it back to the right one)
  • creating a new page (at the place with the wrong name) and then replacing its contents with "#REDIRECT [[CORRECT TITLE]]"

Create missing page, then put this as the only code on there:
#REDIRECT [[correct page name]]

(I have added the redirect to that page.)

Thank you both Loramin & Sorn! :)
I use the wiki big time and am 100% in positive mode to help improve it.
