Do Wizzies still blow shit up in Velious?
 

So I’ve noticed that getting NoK to land on raid targets in Velious is an effort and a half, and it made me wonder how Wizzies manage. I usually have to cast MoK 4 or 5 times before it lands, and that’s AFTER tash and malo. I know your lure spells penetrate resists, but aren’t they helluva expensive? How do Wizzies manage to stay useful in Velious raiding?

As for dps melee are the Kings of velious, roll a rogue, monk, warrior, or ranger.

Sure wizards bring some dmg in velious, but velious era wizards got shafted hard. They where Kings when bosses only had 32k hp

Far less useful than they were in Classic and Kunark. Velious is arguably one of the worst wizard eras. They get the whole dragon and giant DD,.. but compared to rogues, monks, warriors etc they just don't compete in the damage department.

Blow mana for 18-20k dmg and sit for the rest of the raid maybe sneak in another 2k. while powerhouse rogues, monks and warriors are scaling the dps charts higher.

So it doesn't sound like all doom and gloom for wizards if you are lucky enough to get epic and VP robe or velk robe they are halfway decent at solo. Use Mana for fetter and robe clicks for dmg and epic to absorb any root break dmg which is pretty cool

Velious gear makes melee way better than casters in the dmg department but their gameplay will always be auto attack and some clickies
