necro : fear vs agro kiting.

I have a level 20 necro and just came back after a long time away from the game, my question is since the dot nerf where mobs take significantly less damage when not rooted / feared is it still viable to agro kite at these lower levels?

I have never really cared for fear kiting, but if it is really that big of an improvement I could get used to it i suppose.

thoughts?

Hey Seeatee. From what I've seen, fear kiting is the way to go. Mostly because not only do the dots do less damage when moving, the pet starts eating up exp if you don't do at least 50%. So you want your dots to do as much damage as possible while your pet can't do more than 50%.

Fear kiting is far superior. More damage, you can sit and med, plus fear is just starting to get to the point where it doesn't cost you a ton of your mana. By 24 you will hardly notice casting it.

my main problem with fear is it seems to resist more than it actually connects, just last night I had it resist 4 times in a row.

i didnt aggro kite until PoP where mobs couldnt be feared. fear kiting is by far the better way to go.

It depends on where you're hunting. Undead are much easier to hunt since your fear for them is much harder to resist.

At the moment till at least 29 and most likely onward you are better off snaring and bursting while solo. That is until the next patch when they fix it.

Fix what?
