General DAOC Info for beginners:

Dark Age of Camelot offers players a choice of three realms to choose from: Albion, Hibernia, and Midgard.

Albion is based on Arthurian legend, with such notable real-world places as Hadrian's Wall, Stonehenge, and other locations in Great Britain. The races and classes of Albion, in the original game and early expansions, tended to be more professions and peoples of European history and mythology than inventions of the gamemakers.

Hibernia is based on Celtic folklore and the landscape includes lush green rolling hills typical of Ireland. Although the quest storylines, placenames, and numerous game elements are firmly fixed in Celtic mythology, Hibernian races and classes are typically the creation of the gamemakers.

Midgard is based on Norse mythology and its landscape includes misty fjords and pine forests. Somewhere between Albion and Hibernia in its mix of Norse historical figures and mythology, and inventions of Mythic Entertainment. The adherence of the architecture to the forms and design of medieval and pre-medieval Norse architecture is notable.

Bumping this because it looks like we're going to start up an Uthgard crew within a day or two. Let me know if you're interested in playing the best PvP MMO of all time.

Right now we've got like me, Scrooge, Knuckle, and Hammertime. I think we're we might be going Hibernia. I'd like to do a magic-based group because I've always wanted to do a Vacuumancy Eldritch, but I'm pretty flexible.

Also one of you guys who set this up recently should post a how-to. Uthgard is currently incompatible with the current version of DAOC you download from the official patcher (which you can get from the Downloads section on the Uthgard website). You need some dll file from some website or something to back-date it to 1.9.

We haven't really organized anything yet. We definitely need a druid and a bard... besides that I don't know if we want to stack eldritches or blademasters. Depends on what people want to play, we don't have to have the super most badass pvp ground there is as long as everyone's enjoying what they're playing... for the most part you can make most combinations work. But 1-2 druids and a bard is pretty mandatory.

Was gonna try this out but having problems with getting set up. Apparently the new client isn't supported by Uthgard and the only download links for the old client were hosted by Megaupload (axed by fbi). Any ideas? Been looking on the uthgard forums but nothing yet.
