I ended up running it in a VM, getting it going, then moving the files over to wine. I am having issues on the kids laptops but thats OK, I will test it again, with your suggestions.

None of that helped, I ended up having to install Windows into a VM, then install/setup EQ, then copy it out and run everything w/Wine like I did in the first place. It works now. For some reason P99...

Same, and yes, I have downlaoded the latest patch (P99Files42.zip as of this writing) and unzipped them/overwritten all files in the EverQuest folder. Still giving me an outdated spells file...
