So I have been too busy to keep up with all the negative modernist BS about communism that Xaanka has been spewing. All so elementary. For all the lip service people play to the word postmodernism...only a small minority of the population fully grasps the concept.
Rationality won't save us. People can be fully rational on both sides of a conflict while killing each other and destroying the world. The one true objective reality that we boldly thought we understood in the age of modernism -- Hitler, Stalin, Roosevelt/Trueman, has many sides to it. We can only mentally process so much as humans and probably are incapable of seeing reality 100% objectively.
Modernism is just one of many knowledge systems. Knowledge systems have their own acolytes, truths and Missahs. Their own heros, villians, and subjectivst histories.
But it can only grasp a certain narrow aspect of reality -- not the full objective reality. Modernism is blind -- like all knowledge systems -- to their own presumptions and bureaucratic priesthood.
The fictitious "end of history" argument -- where democratic capitalism is proven to be the best system that everyone must adopt because its proven to be the best. This is a modernist belief.
In reality -- neo-liberalism is has proven to be destabilizing to countries and socialism is in demand. In the long run, communist governed China might prove most capable of projecting power abroad -- replacing America. Despite all the disadvantages China has in this cut-throat global competition for supremacy.
This is what we call counter-factuals. Facts the run in the face of the modernist end of history theory.
