This, and really I'd emphasize the "join a guild" idea. This server has lots of good guilds with friendly players that will happily help you get you epic, as long as you help others to get their's. See

I mean alternatively, if you really didn't want to join a guild, what you could do instead is ... find 5-11 other people who all also need help with their epic, organize "epic fight nights" where everyone takes turns helping each other, and over time everyone will get their epic ...
... except what I just described is pretty much starting your own guild
