SNES without a question!

Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy III / VI
Super Metroid
Super Mario RPG
Earthbound

That system has so many classics; I personally think it is the greatest console ever made.

Sega is the better couch coop system, while SNES has deeper SP games (and Seiken Densetsu 3). Couch coop game is still really fucking strong with SNES tho. SNES by far if I could only save one.

Sega was kind of the jack of all master of none thing. SNES had more stars, but Genesis had more games I enjoyed.

This sums up my opinion on it perfectly.

Nintendo seemed to have better build quality for its peripheral hardware. When I find old units at garage sales the SNES controllers usually work fine. I haven't seen a Sega system with fully working controllers in many years. The Sega buttons seem to have a habit of getting stuck. In both cases the console units themselves tend to work normally. I wonder how well today's consoles will operate when they're 25+ years old.

Default Sega Genesis gets my vote

I personally loved my Sega Genesis. My parents made the right choice getting me that while ALL of my friends had SNES. I loved discovering Sega Genesis only gems like: Starflight, Shadowrun(Genesis version was way superior from an RPG standpoint), and I discovered Bill Walsh's college football and FIFA Soccer. They both turned out to be awesome co-op games with friends, and the device that allowed 4-players to play.

Bill Walsh college football was the best football game of that era by far imo.

I had both, I liked the sgen much better, more like the PC. In fact those were the last consoles I ever bought, apart from a couple hand-helds.
