Quest Issue: Upgraded Sky items should not be in yet

Prompted by the Wu's Fist thread, I looked for some info regarding when the other upgraded Sky items went live. It doesn't really look like any of them went in until around March/April of 2001. I'm not sure why things were patched in so early here. A March patch date makes a lot of sense since that's around the same time the other classic planes were patched to bring them more in line with the current rewards and difficulty of the raiding game.

I couldn't find any patch notes that talk about upgrading these items, but the fact that they all seem to have been discovered around the same time is pretty damn conclusive.

10 agility, 10 dexterity, 12 AC is right there with the tattered mantle, and crafted pauldron. I like the item.

So, the old version was still in 2 months prior to Velious opening. First post about the upgraded item isn't until April 6th 2001, right in line with everything else I'm seeing.

The upgraded Item "Pauldrons of Piety" are much better. Ac11 12wis 2 Cha 8sta 35 mana. I got these for completeing this quest 3/29

Note that people are still complaining about the crappiness of the previous version a few days prior to Velious launch on the same page.

Reward has been changed...
It's better than it was, but still not worth coming to the plane to get. Not bad for a ranger without their epic.

You can find similar posts for most of the other upgrades. All of this points to these items all going in at the same time, about 4 months after Velious launch.

Willing to fix any of these that are not era-appropriate. It is within our means to globally change them, then retroactively change them back. Changing them back would be possible without a patch.

Need more research before doing that amount of work. Good job so far.

We now have our news section open. It is still in beta and will undergo some changes over the next few weeks, including moving to the main allakhazam.com url with its own graphics and layout. We are going to have a number of different people posting there, with the hope that you can get varying perspectives on things from the different posters. As we spend more time with it, hopefully it will grow and evolve into something both unique and fun. Since gaming news sites are a dime a dozen, we hope to make it something a little different. Much of where it will go depends upon the feedback we get for it. Right now, it is a mix of original articles and links to interesting articles on other sites. Remember this is still basically a beta test and we are mainly posting it now because of E3, so the content will grow with time. You are welcome to submit your own editorials/articles to be posted. We reserve the right to edit anything you submit and to pick and choose what we will post. The more gramatically correct and well written a submission is, the better chance it has of being published. Thursday, Friday and Saturday we will be posting up our coverage of E3, and, while I will try to sneak in a content update, it may be that our only posts will be in that section the rest of the week.

I have a pretty large update for you today. This should be an interesting week. Illia and I are going to be at E3 later this week, and we will be bringing you coverage of the event to let you know about any developments in Everquest and any other games we think you might be interested in. Generally I don't really buy Alla dates as high-quality evidence because it may have taken quite some time for items to enter their database, but with something like an upgraded quest reward I think they would likely be on the ball. The fact that Elethia's links are all so tightly compressed (within one month) backs that up even further.

Definitely sucks to lose those awesome warrior sky shoulders, but a quick glance at the Sky list and the real losers are going to be Rangers (dark cloak) and Monks (fist/bracer). Shamans get screwed on literally every item but they get the FD ring so fuck them.

Personally I'd rather see Velious than fixes but I'm well aware that you don't see it that way Nilbog [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] BRING ON THE NERFS

Changes to POA
Please note that reports coming out of the Plane of Air that they have upgraded some/all of the quest armor there. The reports on this piece is that it went from 6 wisdom to 12 wisdom.

Wis boost
With the wisdom boost on the new 'Mantle' reward for this quest, it makes it worth getting if you havn't maxed your wisdom other ways yet. The resists and ac are nice too.

I was reading over on rangers glade. this thing has been updated. Now has clickable 40% haste, same ac as before. Can anyone confirm? Also what mobs drop the quest peices. Dificulty in quest? Never even wanted to goto sky , but now....hmmm see ya up there.
