Default Extreme latency in TT

Hey guys,

So since yesterday as we were all moving towards trakanon we had a lot of people experiencing extreme latencies in TT (including myself) with ms over 4000.

People based in the US , EU and also asia.

It seems to be still the case, anyone else experienced this?

Its been discussed at length in the bug forums, see the posts Nilbog links. However, Nilbog has been unable to determine this bug server-side and believes it to be a client-side issue. I don't know what the issue could be, I have not personally experienced any issues in TT. My common suggestion for "wierd zones" is to reinstall the zone files for whichever zone is giving you trouble. Try that and see if your latency improves.

I'm also experiencing this problem; It started exactly after the patch. I've tried reinstalling and the problem persists. Can't exactly go to seb with 10k ms [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Its been discussed heavliy. I experiance some lag, but its nothing like I have seen or recieved petitions for to where I go LD or anything.

Following Deajay's idea may or may not work.

But another sugestion.
If your on a wireless router, maybe try playing wired, and see if that fixes anything.

I am having the same issue for couple weeks. Ive tried wired and wireless, population of zone doesnt seem to play an important role as ive experienced 5k ms with only 3-4 ppl in zone, and its not isp related (checked it from my office pc).

After going to TT probably a thousand times on blue, I experienced this issue for the first time a few days ago on red.

Is this a common problem on other eqemulators? Or even back in the day on live?

Zone-specific lag on Live was common, but usually reserved for high-population zones (bazaar, NFP/EC). The other issue was most players were on dial-up vs. the DSL+ that's common for gaming these days. I doubt TT lag was classic, the only things in the zone are hunter/forager, PS, and VP/Seb key turn-in.
