Drop some coin into capping it with practice points. I save all my points when I make a new rogue and cap backstab the moment I hit level 10. Once the skill is maxed it’s fairly easily kept that way, provided you’re not soloing. Max BS skill at 10 is soo much damage boost, too.
Imo your skill is way too low for your level (14 out of 75) and you need to get it capped ASAP to do your role in group.

I've leveled three Rogues now and I also do this. Skill points are kinda useless at a certain point, but this is one where you should drop them.
