Ironically, when p99 first started these songs did have the cure component in.

It was changed by Uthgaard (iirc) when he found evidence that it was broken on live for years and wanted to recreate that same "classicness" here.

It was at the same time that he made all bard npc's stop casting because also classic.

Earlier p99 team wouldn't even respect the selos break snare and root if precasted when it lasted until velious era. For people that shout "twas classic" there sure are a lot of bard mods and years of ignoring bard topics -__-

Still doesn't remove poisons or disease. Classic eq was in need of many changes, but here on p99 those flaws are preserved as though the game were meant to be that way.

This song should be removing atleast one disease counter per tic if not more being a lvl 29 song.

I spoke to some Verant people about this at the Fan Faire, and this is how they explained it to me:

Lets say you have been inflected with a high level poison or disease spell. Lets say that spell has a "number" value of 100, thus counting down over time until the effect has been run its course.

Spells that "cure" these effects, also have a "number" value, basically subtracting away from the time that is left on the poison or disease effect. For example, lets say a casters version of "Cure Disease" carries a number value of "75". In most cases, you would be cured in the first cast. Since Bard Songs only have a short durration (6-18 seconds), you are forced to recast all the time. Since this is the case, a Bard's version of "Cure Disease" carries a number value of "5", thus taking more casts to subtract the "number value" of the disease spell.

The number ratio's are just purly for example. I do not know the offcial ratios of any spells, or songs, nor would anyone from Verant tell me.

I hope this helps all you Bards out there, that think this song is broken, because its not.

You newb bards don't know a damn good song if you saw one. Of course these songs are kinda useless when your on a lame carebear server. But on a pvp server all these songs are awsome. This song not only removes a dot from a necro that's attacking you But also adds to your defense.

And for the bard that said the see invis song is useless. (*You suck*) That's all I have to say. How bout.. let's see.. Using the song to spot everyone that's about to pk you that's invis. ? ever think of that? How bout.. If your group needs to go invis. And you can't see them to follow them?

Your a beginner bard and should make a warrior. For I see you have no skill what so ever.
