Default LOW level bard aoe kiting?

Is this possible as a viable LOW level leveling option? I'm talking LOW. Like pre10 and teens? I've never played a bard before and just started up. It seems like cod doesn't hit enough early on to make this viable, am I right?

It's possible, just a pain. You can start at 2 with strafe running until you get selo's. It takes practice to consistently hit with the aoe and not get hit.

You can do it at 2. I did levels 8-15 in North Karana on wisps alone. I know of one person getting 30% of a level in FOB on one pull (of 30 or so mobs) he says, at level 17. Takes 15-20 minutes.

To make it viable, you need a lute which you don't get a skill for until level 8, but it's DOABLE, just takes a lot longer at 2.

It's an option but not really faster than just normal tank and spank leveling really until 18.

I did level 4 in Steamfont, strafe-kiting kobolds and it worked very well. Oddly I am having more of a problem once I got Selo and my drum because I tend to either be out of range of the song or so close I get hit.

If you strafe kite, you don't use selos...you only need it to gather mobs, after that you strafe kite. Selo's is usually used when you "tap" - I strafe kited a bard to 50 naked and never used selo's.

That's what I meant, I had better success with strafe (w/o selo) at 4 than tap-selo at 5. Although I am slowly getting the hang of the selo version.

Honestly if you can already strafe and land CoD, no reason to learn tap unless your hands get too tired. But I'm lazy...so who knows.

I hope you mean in a good XP group. This statement is very false when it comes to soloing. Not even close.

1. Make Qeynos Bard(Call in sick to work, this step is key for 2/3)
2. Tank spank to 12
3. Hand in fangs
4. Profit.
