Default error code sp-1

So I recently heard from a friend about project 1999 so I could go back and play everquest like I did years ago. I went through everything the play guide said change the the files it said to and backed them up. Now after I try loging into the server, my char select screen says my spell files is out of date and to go to the website 1999.org get the uptodate effects and on the final char reation bar it says error code sp-1.
Now ive tried to update the effects with the zip download provided on the website but it still giving me the same error.....what do I need to do to fix this problem so I can play this game. I havent played this game in over 8yrs and it would be fun to mess around on every now and then.

Ive spent the last few hours trying to figure this out and all ive accomplished is frustrating myself, also when it loads up its in a smaller window, I tried going into properties and loading it up maximized but that doesnt seem to work ether.

First of all... welcome to P99... its a great project with a great community.

Your issue should be simple to resolve.

Look in my signature and grab the All in One Installer... pick option (1)... it will set up the game for you to run on P99 in a couple of clicks...

PS - make sure the game is installed in C:\ and not Program files, if its in program files literally just drag and drop it into C:\

Enjoy [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

edit - if you are having issues still make sure you run the All in One Installer as administrator (right click it and Run as Admin).

Have you tried moving your install directory to somewhere other than C:\program files?

Hello and thank you. When you ask if I moved my files I don't know how to do that. I don't know what buttons to click on to see any files. That's why I was hoping someone could tell me a step by step instruction so I could follow it. I know that's asking alot. Or is there someone here with a good reputation who could connect to my computer and do it for me?

Assuming you installed with the defaults, your installation is in c:\program files (x86)
You need to open up File Explorer, assuming Windows 10, it is this icon

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Left click on the Program Files (x86) folder.

Once there and right click on the Sony Directory and select the Cut command.

Move up one directory level. You can probably left click the "Local Disk (C: )" to do that.

Right click in the blank area and select paste

if you're prompted, select continue

Once the directory has been moved, you'll probably need to re-patch with the V44 files (http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=261699)
