Iksar Necro Skullcap Rank 2 Issues
So I've been following one of the necro guides which said not to bother with tailoring since it takes too much money to start up. I'm now level 5, have both tapestries, but I only have 5 points in tailoring. The tailoring guides I read say that I need to get to 21 before I can actually level tailoring without a Guild Master.
So am I stuck pretty much at this point? Do i need to wait another 4 levels to get my tailoring to 21 and be able to start work on this? Can I combine these tapestries <21? I've tried asking around FOB and Cab East for help on this but haven't turned up anything yet. Any help would be appreciated.

You'll be crafting http://wiki.project1999.com/Silk_Swatch by combining 2 http://wiki.project1999.com/Spider_Silk which drop off of adult bonecrawlers and bonebinders (not hatchlings) in Field of Bone. That will take you to 21 Tailoring. Alternatively, you can craft http://wiki.project1999.com/Silk_Thread by combining 2 http://wiki.project1999.com/Spiderling_Silk which drop off of hatchling bonecrawlers and bonebinders in Field of Bone. That will take you to 15 Tailoring.

The limitation written in the tailoring guide concerns any tradeskill. You cannot get past 21 skill level by spending training points at your local trainer, but it doesn't mean you can't raise your skills to 21 through combines on your own. People usually train the first 21 points by trainer because it's fast and cheap, but it's not mandatory to follow that road.

Hey there. I just did this quest last night. I'd used training points to level my tailoring, for the most part. While killing placeholders for the tapestry pieces, I killed tons of cats, so making some armor out of the pieces helped to supplement some of the skillups too. Just put a ruined cat pelt and a cheap pattern in and combine.
That said, I failed the tapestry combine no less than 3 times with a skill level close to or above trivial so RNG was hating my guts pretty hard. I had plenty of time to kill cats and get my skills up. Now I've taken to brewing and smithing for the 3rd skullcap. Good luck!
