The whole point of this server is to try and emulate classic Everquest with all the good and bad things included, compromising this ideal for quality of life improvements should never be on the table.
Removing BFG and the quest NPC is not classic, pathing is not classic, links are not classic, drop rates aren't classic, a lot of the items aren't classic, Kunark isn't classic, Velious isn't classic, release dates aren't classic, the titanium UI isn't classic. This server is not going to be classic. And that's fine, because this server isn't supposed to be classic, it's supposed to be P99. That doesn't mean it can't have features that makes life easier for the players, like links and buff timers.

It's supposed to be classic.

You can site plenty of things that make it not classic sure, and if the fixes for those things were easy, they would be removed. However item linking is very engrained into the titanium client for example and would be very challenging/impossible to remove.

Buff timers make people more safe, efficient and powerful at all levels of play. They needed to go.

the devs are trying to get as close as they can within the limits of titanium client, so yes it does mean it shouldn't have features that makes life easier for the players because classic EQ wasn't easy.

bring on real eru/hum night blindness, get rid of item links, gimme the damn spell book med, etc.. drown us in classical immersion pixels ye Nilbog [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Can anyone please help me figure out where to be inserting the new spell files? I thought I put it in the right place but it keeps saying my spell files are out of date at the character select screen. Any help is greatly appreciated to get back in game! Thank you!!

Where did you install it to? Unfortunately, I don't think any one here will be able to help you find that, unless it's default in which case it's probably Program Files/EverQuest Titanium or something similar.
