I never said any of that, you implied it because I believe the FDA has a job to do.
From the other thread, where you were given a choice of either trusting a government testing agency (FDA) or a free market testing agency:

I guess his staff never saw the video.
Personally I'm a pretty big fan of being stuck getting a good or service from the same person, no matter the merits.

dude I don't know why this is so hard for you to comprehend. There are govt. agencies that are the authorities on safety and other things.

I would choose FDA approved meat over Billy Bob's approved meat or and other bullshit idea you can come up with. Drop it.
I'm sure you'd love for me to drop it as it exposes a complete contradiction in your thinking. I guess you believe that the free market works fine except for safety issues? Can you explain how Underwriters Laboratories fits in with your theory? Or how about all the safety features added to cars that are not mandated by governments in any way? You make this exception without any rational explanation as to why it is an exception.

What if I said free markets are best for providing all products except for desk chairs? Do you not see how an exception doesn't make sense unless you give some kind of reasoning for it?

Choke on it!
Interesting, this is completely antithetical to everything else he's ever said in relation to government. If you expand public safety to mean the government may intervene in any activity which has any risk at all, then you have once again a government with unlimited powers. There are no activities in this world that contain zero risk. I'd want a fuller explanation of his position on this issue before I believed that he'd permit unlimited government power under the guise of protecting the people. He's smarter than that.
