And despite this terrible state of affairs over there, hundreds of people would rather do that than deal with the P99 raid scene. Hell, more people play over there than on red99. Maybe we need another red recruitment thread.

Depends on what you mean by competitive. On our server, we had no rotation. So we were competitive, but we didn't sock shit, zerg, etc. Mobs would usually be up for several hours before being killed. Guilds just didn't see the use in spending inordinate amounts of time to get some pixels.

One would think more time in Kunark would reduce the demand for Kunark loots. Of course, on live we didn't want to gear up 12 alts with raid loot.

how would introducing more level 60s into the endgame reduce the need for kunark loot?

Oh, you're right, it takes 4 years to get to level 60.
