Any good fighting anime?

Please stay away from bleach, naruto, dragonball anything just imo but they're all severly overrated.

Wut? Dragonball is fantastic. Even if we don't go into Z, the original is awesome.

But I agree about Naruto and Bleach..

DBZ abridged is amazing.

I don't want to be "THAT GUY" But you shouldn't be wasting your time watching the anime for Shonen Jumps series. Read the mangas, less bullshit filler to deal with.

As for as hand to hand/magic/weapons combat goes -

Shakugan no Shana
SCryed (Quite different than the manga)
Kiddy Grade, scifi spyish, all sorts of action
Scrapped Princess

Mecha(this is the good stuff!)

Code Geass
Gundam Seed

Manga is good and I've read a few series, but a good soundtrack gives the story an extra punch. It'll tug at the heartstrings or sense of pride, courage, etc. It definitely rounds out and enhances the story.

Also, while I love Scrapped Princess, I don't really see it as a fighting anime. I see it as a story driven anime with a few good fights, but there aren't enough to keep those looking for good fighting to be satisfied IMO. Log Horizon falls into the same category. I love this anime, but there are so few fights that I didn't list it.

I watched dbza early on. They had a bit of a break between saiyans and namek and i kinda forgot about them for a few years, but "are you a yoshi?" Gets me every time

That's why I kind of listed fighting/magic etc. And while it isn't constant fights, the fights are good and make you go...OH SHIT. IMO

And yes a good OST is great, and granted I started with the Naruto/Bleach/OP until they slowed got boring/I got heavily into Manga and to this day the first Naruto Ending song by Akenobashi(sp) Wind...is amazing.

I liked Log Horizon, but its more political/MMO in Nature. SAO would be a better fighting anime in that regards.

Which now that I think about that, I recommend that highly!
