Default No Hill Giants in West Commons

I played EQ live for 5 years hardcore. I recall seeing hill giants in West Commonlands all the time. They were so numerous with many in the zone at the same time that we had to hug the zone border to avoid them.

I have been playing P1999 for quite a few months and have not seen one Hill Giant yet in WC. I have passed through WC many times.

I remember there used to be orc pawns that patrol in the sand in East to West and West to East route. They apparently were the placeholders for the Hill Giants. I have yet to even see an orc pawn travelling the corridor in on the sand part of WC.

Whatever spawn table you are using, it's not the same one as the one used in live during classic EQ. I can personally attest to that as I know this zone very well.

Part of the magic and danger of EQ was hill giants in zones like WC. Please do something to ramp up the spawn rate. Thank you.

People don't hunt the roaming trash in WC like they did on live (nor are the zones reset each week after downtime/every zone crash) so the place holders don't cycle as much.

gr8 point

Nilbog addressed this in some Oasis thread

We came to him with pictures of Fansy training tons of sand giants around in Oasis but you never see more than 2-3 up at a time

The answer was exactly what Ele said. Nilbog confirmed many, many sand giant place holders out there. WC is probably the same.

Hill giant in WC spawns in sand area close to Befallen, little east of it, and walks all the way to shadowmen camp in the west part of zone, then walks back. Unless killed, which happens quite often.
