Enchanter and Shaman are the two strongest solo classes. A substantial portion of P99 players value solo ability among the most important criteria when choosing their class. For that reason, you will see lots of both.

Most enchanters who are skilled at their class 50+ are folks that have the desire to focus on playing the game, when playing the game. They aren't people who AFK consistently, do laundry while playing the game or babysit their kids. Insert any one of those variables and one of two things happen:

A.) You quit the class because you realize distractions + enchanter really don't pair well.

B.) You become a sub-par enchanter. (This is the bucket most enchanters fit in).

All of that being said, play what you want!

Why not include Bard in that then? Is it because they're the best outdoors but not so much indoors?

Bards can do some insane things ... but when it comes to the hard mobs and trophy kills they're not in the same league as enchanter and shaman.

A bard can pull 100 red con mobs and kill them all solo in a few minutes...That has to be worth something [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Bards are good levelers. And even that becomes debatable of how much faster it is compared to the 5-6 mobs per pull a necro or enchanter can do in Howling Stones.

Pulling a swarm across burning woods was time consuming before, and now youre limited to 25 and lazy aggro.

Leveling hands down bard wins. Even with the swarm nerf it's still far and away the fastest leveling method up until *good* locations fizzle out in the mid 40s. From there on - bards can charm/kill with great safety and efficiency with minimal down time in any zone dark blue mobs can be found (outdoor preferred for mobility purposes).

From 0-60 if focused on nothing else, bard will win. If finding those good camps 54-60 are harder for the bard, the speed with which they got to this point by itself gives every other class a lot of catching up to do.

Being great at leveling does not match up to the raw power the other big ones bring to the table (shaman, enchanter, and to a lesser degree necro) for once you ARE 60 in any meaningful content.

And what zone has 100 red con mobs with no casters that you can safely swarm?

God I loved pulling as much crap as I could in FV at like 24. Just run around circles and listen to the dings.

I dinged 3 times in one pull once (granted, on Red with 50% exp bonus) in FV.

Pulled a crapload of dogs at 26, by the end of the kite I was almost 30. Most of them were red cons.
