Default I want my name back!!!

I've been playing on p99 for a few days now, and for the most part loving it. A short time before I started, my friend introduced me to a really cheesy song called Heartbeats, by Swedish electropop group The Knife, which I will shamelessly admit being addicted to. So, when I decided to roll an enchanter, I named him Heartbeats, thinking it would be appropriate given the amalgamation of chanter buffs/debuffs, particularly haste/slow. I was really fond of that name. I've been farming Steins of Moggok, and today I ran from Freeport to Highkeep to sell one. On the way, I stopped in Rivervale to grab a Honey Jum (part of the Stein quest). To get the Jum, you have to give a Halfling NPC three honeycombs and three plat. I gave her the honeycombs but forgot the plat, so she took them and told me something to the effect of "This isn't everything I need! You also have to give me 30 gold coins!" (3 plat works, too). I gave her the plat, and she gave me the same message, except for honeycombs. Whatever. I went to Highkeep, sold the Stein for 300 plat, and cast Gate. At that point, the game froze, and I had to ctrl alt delete to close EQ. When I logged back in, I didn't have the Stein or the 300 plat. Naturally, I petitioned it, and added the bit about the NPC eating my quest turn in in Rivervale. I went outside for a smoke, and came back in time to catch a bit from one GM about my name violating server rules, and a different GM about having to post my issues about the 300 plat and the quest on forums, before I disconnected. When I logged back in, my toon was named Jarartik! I talked to a GM, who told me character names can't be "brands, words, or phrases." Seriously? He's standing outside the NFP bank turning everyone into frogs, and a good portion of them have word/phrase names, while I'm reading global OOC posts where a third of the players have word/phrase names. So I come to the forums, and I notice that almost every single post where people put their characters' names in the sig have character names that are words/phrases. Including posts that have been read/responded to by GMs. I'm not suggesting that you make everyone else change their name, too, but I am wondering why the hell I got singled out about my (non-offensive, isn't detrimental to others' gameplay in any way) name because I got dicked out of 300 plat. I love that name. This isn't a roleplaying server as far as I can tell, and even if it was, there are NPCs in the game with word/phrase names (i.e. Frostbite). Screw the plat, screw the honeycombs, I want my name back!!!

BTW, renaming my character reset my UI and deleted my friends list. So I'll try to remember the names of the people I enjoyed grouping with so far, and in the meantime they'll have no way of messaging me, because they don't know I'm Jarartik now.

I actually read that cluster of text and i gotta tell you, if the shit ain't broke don't fix it.

I find heartbeats a very acceptable name as opposed to Hitlerwasright who played on server for quite some time, but that's my opinion, which holds no clout when it comes to GM decisions.

And if I recall, it was rats mixxit turned everyone into.

Which was fun as hell.

....but jarartik? That's like one of those rediculous pet names. Which is why your name change seems like a slap in the face...

which it kinda is.

I can change it to something else, it doesn't have to stay Jarartik. The problem is, I can't think of another name, because when I think "what do I want to name my enchanter?" I answer "Heartbeats!"

I just logged in, and I see a GM standing here next to, among others, Motrin (haha, he's a cleric), Funeral Forafriend, Taxi Driver (haha, he's a druid), Marley Thebob, Sicc Boy, Burlystache Whiskeybreath...should I keep going? I'm sure Richgurl will log on soon with the casino spam that GM's have undoubtedly seen, because she does it right next to them. It is utterly fucking ridiculous that they changed my name. I'm at a loss for words. Just give it back.
