Default Twink SK gear, 2handers for pvp/pve

accidentally posted this in melee but cc'd here, now.

Sooo I am curious what would be best, i have various weapons and not quite sure.

Reaver 40/40 - 2hs
Vindication 35/45 - 2hs
Axe of Lost Souls 30/40 - 2hs
Deathbringers Rod 30/40 - 2hb
Poison Wind Censor 20/28 - 2hb

obviously SK's aren't known for their amazing dps, but considering this I am still unsure what to choose. the 30/40s seem like the worst of them. PVE I don't know if PWCs 20/28 would be better, or reaver 40/40. for PVP I am unsure between Reaver and Vindication. Despite reavers stats the vindication gas 1slot proc dispell at level 1 vindi seems pretty good plus its magic weapon unlike Reaver. However something in the back of my mind makes me thing Reavers 40/40 would outdps it 90% of the time and switch back to 1hander/shield for areas where magic is required.

if someone can just link to a dps calc or something that is accurate i can give it a try, otherwise feel free to add opinion. Using a 36% haste item, with eyepatch haste mostly.

While im on it, I have a noct blade + lodizal shield(wearing lodizal belt otherwise I wouldve went with it on my back with an RBB). Aside from maybe an ebon mace, is there any better 1h buyable til i could probably find a frostwrath/soul defiler? what about wurmslayer-- or would ebon mace/atra shield be best PVE wis til epic

OVERALL this SK will probably go to be level 51-52 or at highest 55 depending on when the best spell set is 51-55 to stop.

Above level 30 (I think) the PWC will start to proc that poison, so you probably won't want to use it.

40/40 Reaver is probably the best there in term of dps.

If you're tanking however (which is most of the time) stick with a 1h + shield... your cleric will thank you. Noct blade is good, ebon mace is better....and there's 1hs sword that drops in Plane of Hate that you'll really like [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I got a 30/35 lance for just 2k a couple weeks ago. I would get something like that. My warrior is soloing even cons in the mid 20s with it [You must be logged in to view images. 55 would be best to stop it I remember correctly....damage shield at 54 and a nice group at 55.

My old SK has something like it on live back in the day...think it was 30/36 though. It is good to be a melee in Velious.

As for DPS, I always thought if you just take the attack and divide by the delay, the higher number is the higher DPS.

That works well enough at lower levels, but as level increases you have to account for the mainhand damage bonus. (Damage*2 + bonus)/delay is the most accurate way to do a quick comparison afaik.

For example, wurmslayer (25/40) is a higher ratio than jade mace (9/18), but by level 50ish the jade mace will start to be better due to the low delay (61/40 vs 29/18 at 60).

How can you tell what the damage bonus is and what level it kicks in? It's been a while since I've played

(Level - 25)/3 drop the decimal, starts with +1 at lvl 28.
