Charm pet weapons?
What are some good weapons to give a charmed pet if you're duo/grouped as an enchanter?

Journeyman's tash sticks (mana saver)
Mithril 2h (wornhaste), Jumpy robe (wornhaste, leaves a weapon slot open for better weapons), Steel hilted flint dagger (large DD proc), Anything with -MR on it (rusty spiked shoulderpads, ada rings) (there's a book/weapon with -MR but the name escapes me) Locustlure (slow proc, mana saver) Anything with effect procs (snare/root/etc) Keep in mind if your pet has a proc with effect (like tash sticks) they will disappear if used on you and you recharm the pet (at least the last time I played enc, they did) The ratio/delay is not relevant unless you're using very low level pets (<l10) and have a huge damage weapon (some like weighted axe have an invisible NOPET flag)

Does the class/level of pet matter for proc?

The class only matters as much as a class normally matters.
Casters are nice once you can manatap, because you can cast taps on them during charm breaks. Otherwise, a rogue pet is optimal, because they will backstab with any weapon or no weapon at all. Pets have no restriction on gear, they can wear any race/class/size. (EDIT-they will NOT wear no-trade) The level to proc is the same requirement as the player (a lv46proc for a player, will only proc for lv46+ pets)

Staff of Undead Legions is really good if you're fighting undead. If you're in a group with a melee DPS you can do a trick with disarm to get the pet to use staff in mainhand and steel hilted flint dagger in the offhand. You can also go with DawnFire, Morning Star Of Light because that is 1handed, but quite a bit more expensive.

Ghoulbane and Staff of Undead Legions are nice for undead.
I did some log crunching on 2nd floor CoM at some point with just the staff and concluded it improved your DPS by about 15% overall (taking into account that all mobs aren't undead - staff only procs on undead). Overall exp gain due to staff was probably significantly lower because you still get charm breaks and need to run around to mobs, and that time spent is unaffected by the staff. | ||

Mind you only humanoid mobs will equip gear you give them.
Assuming you already know that, optimal pet gear would look like this: 2x Adamantite Bands (-20MR) Rusty Spiked Shoulderpads (-10MR) Riptide Spear (-5MR) Tome of the Eternal (-10MR) Astral Legs/Cloak of the Titans (-10MR) Tolapumj's Robe (+36% Haste) Other notable pet weapons: Velium Swiftblade (If you don't need a proc weapon) - 36% haste Ghoulbane - Up to 132 Undead DD procs @ L20 Staff of Undead Legions - Up to 585 Undead DD procs @ L46 Dawnfire - Up to 585 Undead DD procs @ L40 Gold Plated Koshigatana - Up to 162 Summoned DD procs @ L30 Steel Hilted Flint Dagger - Up to 625 Fire DD procs @ L50 Axe of the Slayers - Up to 90pt dmg absorb + str procs @ L30 ----------- These are all bells and whistles, the main thing is just getting the pet to double attack. That will increase DPS significantly. All you need to do for this is hand it something that is "secondary only" to make it dual wield and activate the off-hand swings. Torches, Lanterns, Shields, Instruments, whatever tickles your fancy. Have fun~
