Default Plugging

Should zone plugging be suspendable? Originally it was not meant to be possible so why not enforce it's not used!

pros:
-more pvp

cons:
-more work for devs if people don't stop plugging

To monitor it any attack or spell cast on a target makes then plug in a screenshot or fraps they could be suspended? Lets say for 1 day, up to 1 week max or something like that.

what say you?

Yes, this is totally viable and realistic for the massive # of active GMs on red to enforce something that happens in 95% of pvp encounters and cannot technically be proved (don't think there's even a footprint of it in the database).

I'm sure this will go swimmingly and not create the even bigger problem of players flinging shit at said GMs over selective enforcement because they can't be in 80 zones at once to catch everyone/anyone who plugs.

talked to nilbog about this, he told me to necro the LD ai thread, have yet to find it but ill look again later. nilbog has been in game alot lately. as far as suspending, no way you would need a gm on at all times and even then it would take all their time. i think the only solution is to make people stay logged in for 20-30 seconds or something like that.

A hard-coded solution to plugging would be a fantastic feature for any red server, to be sure.

GM enforcement is a terrible idea.

no need to enforce every single case, could be similar to training, if caught you get suspended. Just having it in rules will stop alot of it from even happening...

Saying it was never meant to be possible isn't true. They could have made it so if you lost connection while zoning, your character appeared on the other side, but they didn't. Its a classic mechanic, so its unlikely to be changed here.
