I don't play as seriously, knowing that private servers can be taken down in a matter of minutes if they get a cease and desist letter from their parent companies. I've seen it happen in other games and it really made me realize that it's not as reliable, I lost all my work for like 2 years of game play.
wont happen on eq emu. this is a different game, not even compareable with eqlive anymore

This game is like Sinatra in his Rat Pack heyday, Elvis when he was thin, the Beatles back in their prime. Everything that has followed these guys, like '99 EQ, pales in comparison.

I enjoy old school games in general. Like Karsten said, I also enjoy the old Snes RPGs and various SRPGs (Final Fantasy Tactics is still my favorite) that most people would deem as having "crappy gfx".

Solid gameplay goes alot further for me than eyecandy.

The game being 10 years old is irrelevant, however 95% of the population seems to still be 10 years old, which i find rather pathetic.

Atleast i find consulation in the fact that they will destroy their own game bit by bit.

I get what you're saying, but just wanted to point out that The Beatles followed Elvis who followed Sinatra... so... yea... basically you're saying that The Beatles and Elvis paled in comparison to Ol' Blue Eyes? Just seems like a really awkward analogy.

No I just meant that each in their own right was great and can never truly be bested. Just got carried away a bit.
