Default Max level to group with list?

I could've sworn there was an old thread laying around with all the levels done each with what they could get exp with max per level. Wondering if anyone knows the 30-39 range max level person in group before exp would be lost. iirc you need something like 38.5 to exp with a 55, however since there is no such thing as 38.5 it basically rounds off to 39. Is it safe to assume its 39 for 55-59? or is it like 55-57-58? Searched around for the old thread to no luck, terrible with math.

Basically wondering if i should de level to exp with friends, or wait til they get in range since exp at their range is much easier.

De-leveling is a bad idea, if anything make an alt and level him up until your friends are in range. Another thing is that even if you CAN group with someone, the higher level person is going to eat all the XP if the gap is big enough.

level + 1/2

level 10 can group with 15

level 20 can group with 30

level 30 can group with 45

level 40 can group with 60

Should be something like

level/2 + level + 1

So.. if you're level 10:

10/2+10+1 = 16

edit: above might be more correct ^ would have to check

One thing to remember with this, in order for the lower level character to get experience while grouped with a higher level character the higher level character must receive experience.

ie. If a level 40 and a 60 are grouped together, and the level 40 cons a mob red, and the level 60 cons the same mob (true) green, then the level 40 won't get experience.

Also below level 10 it's just level + 5 iirc, so a level 1 can get xp with a level 6, even though 1 + 1/2 would just be 2 or whatever after rounding.

aye im familiar with that, I used to swarm OT on the regular as a 49-50 and either do all the damage myself. or have level 30 wizards/druids/mages etc jump in at like 60-70% and drop their PBAOEs on my swarms. Though it is a lot tougher to pull 100+ mobs around in OT now due to lazy aggro. but i found if you still pull each one with a chant, and dont run super far OOR they stick with you anyway, especially if they are social aggro.

as for rounding up or down, it rounds up confirmed. i tested it at 38 with a 55, math showed 38.5, soon as i dinged 39 i got exp immediately with him. even with all the changes, still being able to get like 300-400% exp in one swarm is great. just takes a lot more patience, and can be more tiresome then before.
