You are confusing the GOP with conservatism. There is a difference.

One of the first things the very first Republican president did was deny states the right to unilaterally secede from the Union.

the thing is, this is how American politics work, you are no better than the other guy, so stop pretending one is better than the other.

Option A: "I am a liberal, I believe in progressive new ideas and Change!"

Reality: the DNC wants to have complete control of everything without changing anything and ignores the voice of the peope"

Option B: "I am a conservative and I believe in states rights and that the federal gov should do nothing but provide security from foreign threats."

Reality: "the GOP wants to have complete control of everything without changing anything and ignores the voice of the people"
