Default Having trouble updating today's spell files patch...

Hey guys,

When I tried to log in, I saw we needed to grab the new spell files46 folder. I downloaded it, extracted it and add the files into the appropriate folder... now when I open the application, it immediately goes to a white blank screen and gives a

Error in XML
Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt

Now, I wasn't exactly sure the proper steps to add the updated files and just replaced them all with the new ones. So I don't think I have the old ones any longer [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Any idea what steps need to be taken to fix this? Or am I going to have to do a clean sweep and start over?

I deleted and re-installed EQ, then added patch files 46 one at a time. that worked. I think there are issues when you bulk copy paste the uifiles and resources folders. going 1 at a time did the trick for me

Turns out the folders in the patch file contain only files that are being updated. You can't just do a blanket 'replace all' with the patch zip file, or you'll lose files that aren't being updated in the current patch.

I figured out my Issue, I was using a UI Duxa's. I had to revert to the default UI. I can play the game. But i need to work on getting that UI working now.

Using this theory i was able to install the game and the patches and get to the login screen. now I'm getting "A connection to the server could not be reached. Please check your interneet connection to make sure you are online. " "If the problem persists, please check our network status and scheduled downtime page for updates. if hte problem persists please use our help link for furhter assistance.

Cover isn't classic, has a werewolf on it, is that the new load screen?
