I have only seen that work in the bear pits, there u still get the message "X is surrounded by a tunarian glamour" or something close to that. Some other pets I have charmed you get the big red message saying they are protected. For example, rats in PoH.

PoH might be the only zone it doesn't work, then. I've tried it in a number of other zones besides Permafrost and it's all the same.

Sometimes things get dicey and you can't afford to break your pet before finishing a mob, so you have to eat the 50% EXP penalty. But for the most part you can avoid the 50% pet EXP penalty. Basically just keep everything rooted all the time.
Learning to take that exp hit is the difference between life and death sometimes.

Yeah you certainly can glamour a charmed pet right now. I would do Spirocs until 53 and then go to bear pits. Gets much easier with new root at 56.
Can you elaborate on the root? AFAIK root levels only go up in max potential duration, not reliability.

Level 56 root both costs less mana and casts much faster than the previous one.

Raptors are more difficult. Their run speed is insane and their aggro radius is inmense. That's why most people avoid them.

Raptors aren't animals until Luclin? Because classic.

Gotta do Kedge -> Perma Bears here as a druid.

Come Velious Quadding in Cobalt Scar, charming in Western Wastes (and for the total ballers, Siren's Grotto) become options. Grouping in Kael with a charmed dire wolf works too.
