I think your confusing disarming magical weapons with pick pocketing magical items. I cant recall early days of eq but i know disarmed worked on magical items for most of eq

A level 60 monk with epic haste gloves and full planar/kunark gear will lose to a epic mage pet.
Monk quads for 19-25 damage per punch and the mage's pet DS is around 25 itself (numbers not entirely accurate but the mage's pet ds was on the high range of a monk's punch which didn't usually roll" out) Not to mention the mage pet's hp and monk would probably lose without a tranq staff to a mage (epic) pet doing nothing. That is your melee vs caster pvp. Monk burns himself to death on a pet while the mage just watches.

eq was never balanced for 1v1, mages will rape pure melee, it's just that simple. this isn't wow were all classes get all abilities pal.

A monk using a tstaff + haste gloves would rape the shit out of one. A warrior using a 2h would win regardless if it had DS up or not. The pet wasn't that amazing.

You ready? Are you ready for this? The Monk....... goes after the mage. Instead of the pet. I know it sounds crazy. But it just might work. Regards, Monk Player Who Killed Mages
