So what did Velious bring?

I remember when I started EverQuest, I started with Kunark and when Velious came out, I didn't know much except that it was mainly level 30+ because I was about...12 or 13 hah, all I knew was "cool, ice place."

So what all did Velious bring? Guildmates have said it brought back hybrids and such, taking away exp penalties, making them better to group with and such. Other than that, I have almost no clue what goodies it brought, except for Velious itself.

Much better gear. The rygorr stuff was almost as good as original eq planar armor and you can solo for that around lvl 40.

I've been wondering the same. I've heard there's going to be some power shifts between classes for Velious but I know no specifics. I was a bit of an altoholic in early EQ days. I didn't get to max lvl and start doing "endgame" stuff til Luclin on my Enchanter. So all of this "Classic" raiding will be somewhat new to me. I did a little bit of it after Luclin was out but not very much.

2. Kael, SS, ToV...DRAGONS galore!
3. Sleeper???!!!
4. Lots and lots of gear that was awesome.
5. Much better crafting items
6. How about a damage shield clicky ring?????
7. It is probably one of the best expansions EQ has put out as far as amount of game content.

Lots and lots and lots and lots of Raiding content!

Not to mention Defiant Armor, Plane of Knowledge, and horse mounts!!

Plane of Knowledge is PoP I believe and defiant comes later too I think. Horses are also PoP as well.

All correct save mounts. They were added in SOL.

ah yes Mounts where SoL, but in all honesty the Velious expansion would almost double the amount of gear and content. /drool eyepatch clicky haste & Thuradin ring war quest ring!

The only thing I remember from Velious was farming ToV trash for armor tokens for a year.
