Unhappy dsetup.dll Vanishing???

After no major system changes, from one day to another, I got the 'dsetup.dll missing' when launching. When I try to replace the file with the current p99 files .. they all copy, except for the dsetup.dll file extension. It also disappears from the extracted folder.

Things I've tried.

-reinstalling a ton.. before and after every other possible option.

-redownloading fresh p99 files

-creating exception through AV (windows defender)

-trying to move files on a diff user

-restarting

- getting a new version of the game

-change folder settings.

I'm running Windows 10

If anyone could please provide me with info that would be awesome

exclude it in what ever virus scanning program you're using.

The only virus protection I have is windows defender. I've excluded the game file as well as the p99 file

The client seems unstable on win10 itself...

Move your EQ directory out of Program Files, then download, extract, and overwrite P99Files44.zip into your EQ directory.

Also, this post is super confusing. If a file is literally disappearing from your hard drive then you have bigger problems than just P99 not working, and you might want to consider a complete format, disk defrag, and OS reinstall. Files don't just disappear unless you have either a serious hard drive issue or a serious malware issue.

Its your antivirus or malware scanner. I had it happen with a few different antiviruses. It would auto remove that DLL no matter where the game was installed.

Had to exclude the entire EQ folder.

The second issue is that the antivirus will eliminate that DLL when you take it out of the ZIP file itself. You have to temporarily disable the antivirus including the zip file scanner (even disabled, it will still check it), until that DLL is in that folder.

I've had one go into the zip folder and just remove that file itself (talk about aggressive).
