screwing with dots and pets
So i just recently started playing on this server again and rolled a druid. I've been mostly quad kiting and finally decided to use stinging swarm on a mob. Druids are kiters, not root and dot. That is a large waste of mana and time. Now i find out that my dot only does a small percentage of the damage it was meant to do simply because the mob is moving. Snaring isn't enough, the mob has to be rooted. WTF is that about? Why are you ruining druids, necros, and all the other classes that dot kite? that has to be one of the dumbest ideas i have ever heard of. If you are going to make a server as cloes to classic EQ, leave it the hell alone. For the love of god, give us back our dot kiting. And the exp penalty for pets is retarded to. just so you know. Can we get a petition going to get things back to the way shit was suppose to be? all in favor say I

------------------------------
September 13, 1999 ------------------------------ DoT Changes: - If the monster is in melee with you, there is no change to how a DoT spell works. - If the monster is running away from you (fear, wounded, etc.), there is no change to how a DoT spell works. - If the monster is moving when the damage from the DoT is applied (happens every few seconds), it will take 66% of the damage that it would have taken. - DoT spells have all had their duration slightly increased. If the monster moves for 18 seconds during a fight, it will take as much damage from the DoT as it would before the patch. If the monster moves for less then 18 seconds during a fight, your DoT will do more damage then it would have done before the patch. If the monster moves more then 18 seconds during the fight, it will take less damage then it would have before the patch. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/hist...ches-1999.html

66% is definitely a small percentage.

ITT, some guy complains that EQ is too hard, even though this was what it was like on Live.
Also, ohai Joan!

If this is a legit post, the dot nerf is classic within the context of the timeline.
