Unknown error recieved while connecting to server

so I zoned from East Cabilis into Field of Bone, and my game froze. So I closed the client, and tried to login but was unable (the error message at this point was something about updating the patch, and seeing a repeat of message was probably the patch server being down)

anyway, I left for about half an hour and tried again, and kept getting the "an unknown error occured when trying to connect to the server" while connecting to the ruins of kunark server. I tried connecting many times but got the same error (tried rebooting the program and rebooting my computer but got the same message). I then tried to login to the PVP server and I was able to get in, but when i tried to login to the other server again, i got the same unknown error recieved message.

Anyone know how to remedy this?
