Default xp penalty in groups

Some people say that a class with an xp penalty effects the whole groups experience and others say it does not. Which is it? If an xp penalty effects the entire groups xp. Would a Hafling rogue's bonus add too the groups experience?

it does. 5% per hybrid or something.

Is that 5% consistent with a full group compared to if I was going to duo with a hybrid? As well does the classes with bonus experience contribute to eradicate the xp penalty given from a hybrid when grouped?

I believe it works like this: if you were to 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6-box all the way from lvl 1, all characters would level together, even though they take different amounts of exp per level. So yes, a troll SK is going to take proportionately more exp than a halfling warrior in a group, because they have to in order to keep up.

a troll SK needs almost double as much exp as a halfling warrior - like 170 % (rounded) compared to 90 %. this assumes they are the same level. further assuming that everyone else gets average exp (100 %) that means the total exp for everyone else would be 100/590 (17 %) instead of 100/670 (15 %) of the total exp that the group generate. 17 is about 15 % higher than 15. of course we also have to assume that the group is killing exactly the same mobs in the same time.

the conclusion is, that under all these assumptions, your personal exp is about 15 % higher if your group has a halfling warrior instead of a troll SK.

if the group is smaller, lets say 3 persons, the impact is of course much higher. in this case its about 30 % for you personally. in smaller groups the higher versatility of the troll SK will likely increase your killed mobs/time. but usually this increase will be less than 30 %...

I guess it looked like a wild guess.... BUT! If you take the trouble to do the math, in a 6 person group with all equal level members, (yes the xp division is based on gross xp of individual members, which shifts a bit based on class/race), each time you replace a non-hybrid with a hybrid (who basically just has 40% more points then the non-hybrids) you are looking at a "5% or something" reduction in overall xp for the others. Can't be more precise than that really because all groups are different. It's a guideline, not a wild guess. Sorry to make it seem that way.

also many hybrids bring plusses to groups that are not quantifiable and as such, if you actually care about xp penalties you are either a retard or an asshole, probably both
