Default What hobby has the highest sperglord content?

Just curious. In my experience Magic the Gathering tops the chart.

hate to say it kag, but i agree with hbb, definitely anime.

Tons of normal people like anime too, but under the term 'spergloid' i think you definitely get the most in anime.

I know tons of people who play MTG and most of them are pretty normal.

You both have obviously never been to a magic tournament then. Stinky aspie central with 99% of the population not conversing because they can't or are sick of hearing each other and their my way or the highway attitude about everything. They've also yet to break 5k attendees at any event because they don't travel well (one would assume they aren't allowed on planes due to the smell)

Anime conventions on the other hand have been breaking more and more records with the smallest ones having around 8k attendees and the largest having had almost 200k last year.

Facilities for supporting card players are much different from facilities for convention visitors. To put this in perspective, there are usually about 6,000 players on any given day of the World Series of Poker--Magic tournaments rival the most well-known gaming tournament in the world. Just like at the WSoP, far more people who are not qualified for MtG Pro Tours attend than are qualified for playing in the main event.

This is a completely apples to oranges comparison. Anime gatherings are much more like SF or comic cons than card tournaments. Card tournaments have a lot in common with chess, debate, and speech tournaments.

The geekiest thing I've ever personally witnessed was a Mensa meeting.

just because lots of people go to the convention doesn't automatically mean they aren't fucking weird.
