Default Ranger tracking nerf?

I realize Druids got nerfed in the patch. Did I miss the line where Rangers did as well, or is it simply messed up?

I'm standing in the EC tunnel, with 77 people in the zone. I can see 9 people on my tracking, and only 15-16 mobs. My tracking skill is capped at 200. Usually I can see everyone not at Orc 1 from where I sit.

seem like changing to distance or any of the other settings doesnt effect it either. 20 mobs tops on track.

classic window was limited to 20 mobs. when they added the scroll bar in velious they increased druid track to 125.

Max return from tracking should be 20 yes. But now it only returns the top 20 mobs you track for the first time. I did some test at freeport. Track i got first 20 green mobs. Change sort to distance, track, same 20 mob even if i am starting right next to a blue guard.

Turned off green mobs on filter, returns no mobs at all. This is NOT how it suppose to work. Tracking should work as the way it did before, only difference is, it should only DISPLAY max of 20 track-able targets. And NOT return just top 20 targets.

afaik rangers being able to sort tracking is not classic. again all of that was added during velious, at which point it was determined that the 50 cap for druids was now a useless skill (previously having a low cap let you see all of the nearby stuff, so it did have situational uses) and then a week later the druid cap was raised.

Same patch as the hybrid upgrades and new druid healing spells post-Velious. (Feb. 21, 2001)

Quote:
*Tracking*

Tracking now works in full view for all classes that can use it, and
sports a nifty scroll bar that allows players to see everything on the
list. In addition, the /trackplayer setting is now saved to the
eqclient.ini file.

The following options have been put in for Rangers only:

--- /tracksort
--- /trackfilter

*/tracksort options beginning with R are reverse order
Also March 6, 2001:

Quote:
-- The tracking skill cap for Druids has been raised to 125. It was the
intent for druids to be better at tracking than they were, however
before the scroll bar, smaller skill numbers were often considered
better. With the tracking improvements from the last patch, this
increase was appropriate.

it will take some getting used to but 200 skill is still useful with only 20 mob max window.

ranger tracking is definitely broken. Given that you track mobs at location X and then move to location Y and hit tracking, different mobs should show up on your tracking because the mobs at location X are now out of range.

Currently after patch, this does not happen. Mobs at location X remain on your tracking until you zone.
